That's the wrong "BAM". Hey, I had the name first! I'm gonna sue both the Daily News and Emirel Lagasse. Even before that guy was born (1959), I was called "BAM". (And I was also known for saying, “Kick it up a notch!” too.) bam P.S. It's just past noon, now, so I can talk politics. BAM's WAR PLAN for "Iraq" was to take Bush at his word, after "Mission Accomplished". The mission was "regime change" and it was "accomplished", even before Saddam climed out of his spider hole. Break up the phony, make-believe "nation" created by the British in 1922, from remnants of the Ottoman Empire. Pull out after give autonomy to each of the 18 provinces (plus maybe one more the city for Baghdad). Set up a Swiss-style confederation, with shared revenues from natural resources (e.g. oil, relics, sand, opium, etc.) and free trade between the states, but NO power to impose Federal restrictions on the culturally-different cantons. (That's kinda like what our Tenth Amendment says. It has worked really well in Switzerland for four centuries!) It is much easier to arrange separate elections and separate Constitutions in each of the autonomous states than trying to do simultaneously Kurdistan, Sunnistan, Shiastan, and the empty quarter of Anbar, with a brand-new, one-size fits all, centralized government. We could have cranked things down in most of the autonomous provinces within a year, and ended most or all of the OCCUPATION long ago! BAM's WAR PLAN for Afghanistan: Our mission there was accomplished in late September 2001, when we successfully enforced Bush's ultimatum about 'regime change" (following Congress' near-unanimous approval of Bush's "War on Terror"). The Taliban then left Afghanistan, and our OCCUPATION should have ended within a year or so. (Yeah, I know there would be all sorts of tribal jockeying for power and corruption. What else is new? how is that any different from what we have? That's a way of life in that region and it's really none of our business -- unless they threaten us directly.) Instead the current incompetent in the White House now plans to extend U.S. OCCUPATION for yet another 8 years! Meanwhile, he's been directly encouraging insurgents by his weakness and indecision, getting soldiers killed by dithering around for the past several months. Wake up Barak: the Taliban moved out of Afghanistan years ago. They are now mostly in the independent nation named "Waziristan" not Afghanistan. Yes "Waziristan" and YES it is an independent nation (even without our "recognition" -- just like "Taiwan" and "Iran" and others that we don't "recognize" officially). If you want to deal with the Taliban, just recognize "Waziristan". Waziristan declared its independence from Pakistan several years ago (Pakistan admits that it does not exercise any control over the area.) Waziristan declared WAR on us, officially (several years ago, but after Al Quaida declared its war in the Fatwah of 1994). Perhaps we should take Waziristan at its word, and act accordingly? (An economic blockade would probably work better than Predator drones, to get them to kick the Taliban out of their mountains. Also, legalizing the opium trade would knock the props out under their economy!) That's BAM's WAR PLAN!
