President - faithfully execute laws Presidents do not make LAW; (That's what KINGS do.) (That's what TYRANTS do.) A head of state who also makes LAW is properly called a DICTATOR. Only Congress makes LAW. Congress REPRESENTS the people. In a democracy, only the people make the LAWS (directly or indirectly) A LAW made any other way lacks the CONSENT OF THE PEOPLE. Anything else is not "a government of the people" When LAWS are made other than by consent of the people: TYRANNY. When a King makes a law, that's tyranny. When a President makes a law, that's tyranny. When an unelected Court makes a law, that's tyranny. -------------------------------------------------------------- Courts may strike down a law. Not because it's "BAD" (that's for Congress & the people to decide. Otherwise, courts see that the law is applied EXACTLY as it is written. (Courts may decide the intent of the law, to decide intent of Congress, but when a judge CHANGES a law to be other than what it says (or what Congress meant), then that judge ceases to be a judge and becomes a dictator & therefore a tyrant. The only legitimate change a judge may make is to strike it down, so that the state of the nation returns to status quo ante: (whatever was law BEFORE the overturned law was passed by Congress. It's up to Congress (i.e. Rep of the people) to fix bad law. All a Federal judge may do is to overturn some or all of it. When Congress exceeds powers granted by the Constitution): USURPATION Role of court is to protect the people against usurpation (by Cong. or Pres), by overturning a law or bloicking executive action. Changing a LAW w/o consent of Congress & the people is judicial TYRANNY
