Maternal.  paternal.  Nanny-state.

=TYRANNY.
(A rose by any other name.  Thorns mandatory.  
Argue incessantly about which smell is best,
but agree on STICKING IT to the ignorant suckers.)

LIBERAL ... has become opposite of LIBERTY"
... opp of "PRO-CHOICE".

Most Libertarians proudly wear an old button that says:  "I'm Pro-Choice on everything."
CHOICE IS the libertarian premise.
It used to be the mantra of the people who now call themselves "liberal"
but they hardly ever mention their old mantra:  PRO-CHOICE.

Today, the "LIBERAL" label more and more applies itself
to people (and viewpoints) much better described by the word:  AUTHORITARIAN



WE know best.

YOU are deprived, deficient, and demented.

Most subjects are too ignorant to make the PROPER choices.
Therefore, we the elite, shall make their choices for them.

Transfats.
Marijuana.
Smoking.
Morning-after pill.
Gambling.
Gun ownership.
Free choice of health-care.
Free choice of vehicle.
Free choice of diet.

Deciding for YOURSELF whether or not to risk having your neck broken by an airbag 
(More risky than a collision, if you are under 5'2"),
or deciding for YOURSELF whether or not to risk drowning by being trapped by a seatbelt.


It's weird to see the so-called "liberals" object to: 
    - laws that force people to continue an unwanted pregnancy
but, in  the next breath, they advocate:
    - laws that force people to buy a "qualified plan" for health coverage.

Maybe the so-called Conservatives and the so-called Liberals 
should compromise on the same number of years in jail for 
those (formerly-free) individuals who defy their ORDERS.
(i.e., ORDERS from the ALL-POWERFUL GOVERNMENT 
regarding continuation of pregnancies, 
purchase of health insurance,
smoking of whatever, 
and ... 
(God FORBID:  ingesting transfats!)

And let's not forget:
selling censored books,
displaying religious symbols,

"public option" = compulsion to buy govt plan
Go to jail if you refuse to buy it 
(if you are a citizen or legal immigrant).




Car insurance:  liability - damage to OTHERS.
Collision insurance is NOT required.
You can get liability-only; 
no MANDATE to also get unwanted extras:
    - collision, glass, theft, etc.
    - pre-existing damage (e.g. running into a tree, when you were not paying for coverage)
    - cosmetic surgery, free ER coverage, Dr. visits with no co-pay
    - coverage for pre-existing conditions, such as accidents when you did not pay for coverage.
Must everyone be forced into a one-size-fits-all plan 
that MANDATES coverage for things they do not want or need?

Why does the Federal govt stand by and allow STATE departments of insurance
(beholden to lobbyists, lawyers, unions, and other contributors)
to interfere with interstate commerce (unconstitutionally),
by preventing their citizens from buying whatever insurance they want 
from the 1300 OPTIONS available in other states.
