Sorry, Finn, I can't make it this evening. (I teach from 6-10pm on Tuesdays.) I'd love to be there to identify the real culprits: Êi.e the ones who actually hired the all of incompetent managers, such as: Chris Cox,Ê the heads of both Fannie & Freddie,Ê Andrew Cuomo (HUD head who can't account for $68 billion) bothÊBernanke and Greenspan all of theÊTreasury Dept. secretarys and undersecretarys (who should have seen this coming) No, not Clinton and the Bushes, who merely appointed them,Ê but the Board of Directors that approved every single hiring. There are 100 members on this board of directors, whichÊ approved every single hiring. ÊTheyÊall should be FIRED. The Senate is actually the "Board of Directors" that approvedÊ everyÊsingle one of these guys, and has oversight over their performance. ÊThis Board, which was asleep at the switch,Ê should all be DUMPED. ÊAll 100 of themÊshould be dumpedÊ when their terms end (or sooner!) So should the group that is responsible for Federal budgets, national debt, and for every penny spent from the treasury. Ê The PresidentÊmerely proposes a budget (which CongressÊ always ignores)Êand the President cannot spend any moneyÊ -- all revenueÊbills originate in the House! ÊBecause of their demonstrable incompetence in economic management, ALL 435 so-calledÊRepresentativesÊshould be FIRED,Ê this November! FIRE THE CONGRESS! All 535 of them, including the ones who tried to stop theÊ recent kleptocracy. Ron Paul had it right, when he addressed the HouseÊ andÊidentified the underlying problem. ÊBut he FAILED,Ê andÊeven he should be swept away with the rest of theÊ incompetent failures by a voter uprising to oust ALL 535 members of Congress, four weeks from today. FIRE THE CONGRESS! Every single one of them should be ousted - especially the long-term incumbents with no term limits. (e.g.ÊBiden and McCain). bam P.S. ÊDuring the primaries, there was virtually no debate about the economy (and hardly any about energy). Now, the voters of over 40 states (including NY and Texas) have NO choice in the Presidential election, due to their states' "winner-take-all" rules for state-wide electors. We need a "do-over" for the primaries. The other day, I saw a great bumper-sticker, which an overwhelming majority would support. ÊIt said: SOMEBODY ELSE FOR PRESIDENT Since the Electoral College is already decided in NYÊandÊ most other states, those voters are free to cast aÊ3rd-partyÊ vote for President, without changing the result! ÊA highÊ vote total for 3rd-party candidates would certainlyÊsignal the people's disgust with the two establishment parties. All we can do is vent our frustrations on ÊNovember 4th, by voting out ALL incumbents (Federal and State), and voting 3rd-party for President (since it won't affect theÊ outcome in our state).
