The people's right to bear arms protects all the people's other rights. Gun shows serve as focal points for Second Amendment activists. Gun shows  attract more people than most political conventions. This is why would-be tyrants deem it important to eliminate gun shows. Hence, the outcries against the nonexistent "gun show loophole".
