While in 11th and 12 grades,
I served as a volunteer for the LAP "alternative"
High School program,
teaching remedial classes in mathematics, computers, science,
and literature,
and conducting tutoring sessions.

Robotics Team (FIRST competitions):
Head of programming dept. and Co-Head of electronics dept.
Designed and implemented a flexible control system
using simulations
prior to robot construction;
this allowed advanced testing and numerous special
enhancements and software adaptations,
such as single-joystick control of wheel-mounted motors.

Office Assistant at Longwood High School.
In this capacity, I showed secretaries and administrators
how to use features of application programs,
and how to correct various problems.

For several semesters,
I served as lab assistant
at Suffolk County Community College,
for CM-35 courses in web site design.
Helped students
create, correct, and debug HTML and Javascript.
- Computer consultant to two local Long Island companies,
installing software, configuring systems, creating graphics and audio files,
web pages, performing Y2K validation studies.
etc.
(One is a marine engineering company;
the other is a law firm.)
Also did media, computer, and database work
for a candidate for election to the NY state legislature, 1998.

Created and maintained several websites with many
of my own multimedia web pages.
In summer of 11th grade (2000), I created
the human genome website
for our team's entry in the "Think Quest" competition,
and also researched and authored some of the articles.
At the request of the head librarian,
I created a new
Longwood High School Library website,
which was then used as the homepage on all of their
computers and "portal" for all research information.
Also trained the staff to take over the following year.

Served as administrator of a mud (Multi User Dungeon).
(After participating as a player,
I was promoted to administrator by
demonstrating my knowledge to the site managers.)

Wrote several modules ("worlds") for the ZZT game engine
utilizing a 4th generation programming language,
and mentored a student who wrote several more.
(I would be happy to demonstrate these upon request.)

Also wrote a new module (world)
for a more-advanced engine called megazeux.
This module recreates an 8-bit Nintendo game called Legend of
ZeldaTM.
(I would be pleased to demonstrate
my reproduction of Zelda,
along with the original cartridge Nintendo version.)
